Bishop T.D. Jakes is transitioning leadership to his daughter, a move celebrated by many. However, beneath the surface lies a complex and troubling narrative that warrants closer scrutiny. What is really being passed down?
Bishop Jakes is a prominent figure in American Christianity, known for his sermons, conferences, books, and business ventures. His influence extends beyond the church, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic when he urged the faith community to follow government guidance. His support for the COVID-19 vaccine sparked controversy among those who viewed it as aligning with pharmaceutical interests over divine discernment. Even more concerning was his reported association with the Clergy Response Teams, a little-known collaboration between FEMA and select religious leaders intended to maintain public order during emergencies. Critics have questioned whether such ties signal a troubling blend of pulpit and political agendas—where government interests are subtly fed to congregations through trusted spiritual voices. https://youtu.be/3Lo6PODuADs.
As Jakes passes the torch to his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts and her husband Touré Roberts, this rising platform comes not only with the power of her father’s name but also with the weight of her family's controversies. Public court records and online forums have spoken of mounting lawsuits connected to T.D. Jakes and his various business entities. While some are likely the cost of doing big business, others whisper of more disturbing allegations. All made by men. Unconfirmed but viral accusations suggest Cora Jakes Coleman, his eldest daughter, was involved in a adoption dispute with alleged unethical conduct. Cora Jakes Coleman's husband was also convicted of abusing their other "adopted"daughter and currently incarcerated. TD Jakes’ sons face scrutiny over past behavioral issues and sexual misconduct rumors. These stories cast a shadow over a man known for his inspirational and moral public persona.
It’s easy to conflate charisma, wealth, and public success with divine favor—but that’s a dangerous theology! What’s being passed down here isn't a mantle of godly leadership, but a carefully curated brand. A legacy of empire-building, media influence, and corporate business cloaked in religious language. The troubling truth is, when you strip away the lights, cameras, and perfectly crafted media moments, what remains of this “legacy” has very little to do with God—and everything to do with control, commerce, and entertainment.
For those truly seeking the presence of God in their lives and Godly leadership, it's worth asking: Are we following the Word of The Most High or a brand? The Spirit or a personality? As the next generation steps up to the pulpit, may we remember that God’s legacy is one of humility, truth, and righteousness—not profit, politics, or power.
I’ve been quiet for a while, but I must speak. While praying during the pandemic, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and made it clear: those who stood in the pulpit and urged God’s people to take the COVID-19 vaccine or allowed their church to be used as a facility to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, were not sent by Him. This may be controversial, but I speak from obedience, not opinion. I’m not here to judge hearts, but to challenge us to discern the true voice of God in a time of deception. Please seek Him for yourself, while He may be found. He still speaks, and He will confirm His truth.❤️🙏🏽
